Scrubbed ("we," "us," or "our") is built for pre-medical students. We take your data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it's protected.

What we collect

• Account information: Your email address and a hashed password when you create an account.
• Vault content: Documents, logs, and records you create or upload inside the Vault. This content is stored on your behalf so you can access it across sessions.
• Usage data: Basic request logs (timestamps, routes accessed) for debugging and uptime monitoring. We do not use third-party analytics trackers.
• Payment information: Billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID — we never see or store your card details.

How we use your data

• To authenticate you and keep your Vault accessible.
• To generate personalized secondary essay outlines using your Vault content (Pro feature). Your content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for this purpose and is not used to train their models under their standard API terms.
• To send transactional emails (welcome email, billing receipts). We do not send marketing emails without consent.
• To process subscription payments via Stripe.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Scrubbed:

• Supabase — authentication and database storage.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Anthropic — AI-powered outline generation (Pro only). Content sent to Anthropic is governed by their privacy policy.
• Netlify — hosting and serverless infrastructure.

Data retention

Your account and Vault data are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at scrubbedbymeridia@gmail.com.

Security

Passwords are never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use Supabase's row-level security to ensure users can only access their own data.

Security by plan

Free: HTTPS encryption in transit, Supabase row-level security, and industry-standard at-rest encryption on our database infrastructure.

All paid plans (Starter and Pro): Same secure infrastructure as Free, plus priority automated backups and enhanced data-protection practices with paid-tier operational guarantees. Your Vault files and outlines benefit from the same encrypted storage and backup policies on every paid subscription.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Scrubbed after changes constitutes acceptance.
